Jules' journey following his time at Student Consultant!"

My time at Student Consultant has been immensely valuable. It provided me with the opportunity to thoroughly prepare for my career while also fostering my personal development.

When I joined Student Consultant in 2022, the company was in a growth phase, transitioning from a start-up to a scale-up. I quickly became involved in a project with the financial reporting department of one of the largest insurance companies in the Netherlands. Additionally, I joined the Talent Development team, where I conducted numerous core training sessions for our new student consultants. I also established our offboarding procedure, which gave me substantial responsibility and freedom. Working on my external project allowed me to apply my academic knowledge and skills in a highly educational and enjoyable manner.

As my tenure with Student Consultant progressed, an opportunity for advancement arose. Eager to expand my knowledge and experience as a manager, I was thrilled when the role of Director of Talent Development became available in 2023. This role perfectly aligned with my growth ambitions and marked a highlight of my time at Student Consultant.

The period up to 2024, during which I served as Director of Talent Development, was particularly challenging. I was also writing my MSc thesis and working on an external project, which made for a demanding period. Nevertheless, I learned a great deal during this time. In a dynamic organization, conditions change rapidly, and effective management is crucial. I thoroughly enjoyed this role, collaborating closely with my wonderful colleagues in the Quality Team and the Talent Development team. I worked on strategies for the role, development programs, and leading the team through a transition to a new organizational structure. This experience significantly enhanced my skills in management, leadership, analytical thinking, problem-solving, and teamwork.

Currently, I am completing my two-year Master’s program, with the final part consisting of an internship. I am undertaking a work-placement internship in the marketing department at the software company Avisi Apps, driven by my interest in technology and a desire to gain new marketing skills. The skills I acquired at Student Consultant, particularly problem-solving, project management, and collaboration, have been highly beneficial in this role.

Looking ahead, my focus is on graduating, and I am confident that the knowledge and experiences I gained at Student Consultant will be instrumental in my future career. It was an immensely educational and positive experience, one that I reflect on with great satisfaction!
