Process Documentation and Optimization at the Municipality of Meppel
The Sustainable Team at the Municipality of Meppel faced the challenge of clearly mapping out their operational processes. To prevent team members from repeatedly having to figure out processes at the start of tasks, there was a need for clear documentation and identification of improvement opportunities within their workflows. To achieve these objectives, the Municipality of Meppel enlisted the help of Student Consultant.
Objective
The Sustainable Team wanted their processes not only documented but also aimed to gain immediate insight into potential areas for improvement. They requested us to create a clear overview of specific processes and optimize them for better accessibility and efficiency.
Our Approach
We began with an in-depth analysis by creating process flows for key operations within the Sustainable Team. Through interviews with key figures within the municipality, we gained a comprehensive understanding of the current workflows and the challenges encountered. Based on this information, we developed RACI models that clearly outline responsibilities within the processes, allowing us to identify targeted areas for improvement.
Outcome
The final result was a detailed report containing recommended improvements and a process overview, enabling the Sustainable Team at the Municipality of Meppel to work more efficiently. The processes have been streamlined, and team members now have quick access to necessary information, significantly speeding up the initiation of tasks.
