Process Modeling at HDI Global Nederland

HDI Global Nederland is a leading insurance company and a global player in the insurance industry, focusing on industrial sector business insurance. They offer a wide range of insurance products and services, as well as risk management solutions, aiming to help clients protect their assets and manage risks in daily operations. HDI strives for continuous improvement and efficiency in its business processes to enhance customer satisfaction and remain competitive in the ever-evolving insurance market.

Objective

HDI recognizes that the insurance industry is becoming increasingly complex. To better serve their clients, they aim to optimize their processes by mapping, standardizing, and implementing all business processes in a structured manner. Without this approach, they risk losing operational cohesion and efficiency.

Our Approach

Student Consultant began with a detailed visualization of existing business processes using Miro, adopting a collaborative approach. We then facilitated sessions with users to validate and refine the process visualization, ensuring it accurately reflected HDI's operational reality. Following these validation sessions, we established concrete principles focused on efficiency and uniformity across different lines of business, taking user input into account. In the subsequent phase, we identified bottlenecks and risks, which were then reviewed and discussed with stakeholders for validation.

An essential part of our approach was the organized transfer of all optimized processes to the BIC tool. We also restructured all documented processes at HDI. This reorganization in BIC provides HDI with a central and clear location for managing and monitoring their optimized business processes. We not only achieved seamless integration but also ensured that all employees are equipped to use the updated processes efficiently.

Through the efforts of Student Consultant, HDI achieved:

  • A detailed visualization of existing business processes.
  • Identification and addressing of concrete principles, bottlenecks, and risks.
  • Development of efficient and uniform business processes following interactive sessions with stakeholders from various lines of business.
